Hi, it’s Dr. Mabourakh from Folsom Plastic Surgery. This is one of those videos on a series of questions that patients have sent us.
So what is today’s question? “How long has Doctor been in practice?” Okay. Well, it goes back a long ways. I graduated from Temple Medical School back in 1983. That’s 40 years ago. But I did four years of general surgery training, actually almost five years of general surgery training before I started my plastic surgery training over at UC Davis here in Sacramento. So I started in my plastic surgery practice back in 1992. So that is 31 years, and before that, yes, I have six years of general surgery training. I was actually board certified in general surgery, but I never practiced that. I was board certified in plastic surgery right after my training in 1994, I received my board certification in plastic surgery from American Board of Plastic Surgeons. So, I’ve been in this office not all of that time.
I was in Stockton for a few years before I started to practice here in Folsom. So I’ve been in Folsom 29 years now, but in practice for plastic surgery for 31 years. I hope that was informative. The only other thing I want to tell my patients here is that if you’re looking for a plastic surgeon, you want to look at several things, obviously number users in practice, look at reviews, look at board certification. There are different kinds of board certifications. Look for the ones, if you’re looking for a plastic surgeon, look at the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons to see if your physician is a member, but I hope that helps.
